Perth, Western Australia

About the conference

Strong growth trends and growing economic clout have seen Latin America become the rising star of the international economy in the last decade and the resources sector has played a key role in that emergence. Australian industry participants have played their part in that growth and the Australian government is now using the linkages built in resources to enhance its relations with the nations and economies of Latin America.

The Latin America Down Under (LADU) Conference was created to further these relations and highlight the vast, untapped potential for Australian miners and explorers in a region.

Following the format of its highly successful African counterpart, Latin America Downunder provides a rare opportunity for Australian government, Latin American mining ministers, junior exploration and resource companies, suppliers, service providers, educational bodies, media and investors to network and share their stories and experiences. LADU has grown into the premier forum for Australian-Latin American relations, showcasing the very best of this growing relationship.

Host City: Perth

Known as Australia’s mining capital, what better place to host Latin America Down Under, than Perth, a city hosting a large majority of Australia’s mining companies and located just a stone throw away from several mine sites where everything happens.

Perth is a living picture postcard, situated beside the Swan River, with the best views of all from Kings Park and Botanic Garden which is one of the biggest inner-city parks in the world. The free CAT bus services within the city mean that you can easily visit museums, art galleries, retail outlets, bars, restaurants and cafes and the Perth Mint – home to the world’s greatest collection of gold bars.
